Details of travelling Badrinath Dham

From Haridwar or Rishikesh one can go via shared taxi or GMVN bus or private taxi or vehicle .

So, here I am sharing my personal experiences how we started my travel and reached Badrinath

We started our journey through GMVN ( Garhwal Mandal Vikash Nigam). Each ticket cost us for approx. 500 rupees and we specially ask for the seat in which we can enjoy the Ganga trails while travelling .

Everyday buses start travel to Badrinath from these two bus stops early morning around 5 am .

We started our journey toward Badrinath, and it was full of adventures. Bus took the bypass route instead of regular highway of Haridwar to Rishikesh.  At one point the road was in middle of the river and we crossed it and there was one canal that route. We saw many peacocks on the other side of the canal.

Journey from Rishikesh

Then we reached Rishikesh by 6 am morning, Rishikesh is the gateway towards mountains. The river Ganga flowing besides the road and the mountain view are so mesmerizing. When we looked out of window we saw the mountains and the river flowing in the middle. We took the advantage of booking the tickets one night before and enjoyed the Ganga view from window.

As bus start early we did not have our breakfast . So the Bus stopped before Devprayag for breakfast .

After having breakfast we started moving towards Devprayag, here you can see the sangam of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers and from here after it called as Ganga. It is one of the five sacred confluence.

In this trip we covered four Prayag( Devprayag, Nandprayag, Karnaprayag and Vishnuprayag )

You can enjoy the best view of Ganga river thought out the journey and if you are sitting right side of the bus you can enjoy the Ganga view till Srinagar after that you will be at opposite side towards mountain.

If there is no issue on the way bus can reach till Badrinath or Joshimath in one day . Also you want to stay at Joshimath so you can start your journey next day early morning. After reaching Badrinath we did snaan in Taptakund and go for Darshan .Taptakund is the hot water spring at Badrinath . Here devotee can take a dip before going for Darshan.

Local Myth and Belives

Once we finish our Darshan we visited Mana Village which is the last Village of India. It’s a small village just 3km away from Badrinath

It’s believed that Pandavas did there last journey to heaven through this village .

From Mana village there are multiple treks options are there . Mana to Vashudhara, Mana to Satopanth.

In mana village there are so many small temples are mythological points are there like Vyas gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Bheem pul and Saraswati river. Its believe that in the river Saraswati, Bheem made a pul (bridge) by putting a huge rock for Draupadi to cross the river and completed their journey to heaven.
